Synopsis

Edna is a short-animated film inspired by the refugee crisis, where Macedonia played the unfortunate role of a transit country. In its essence, it is a love story set in very unusual circumstances, told in a very abstract and poetic manner. The film is dedicated to great number of women activists who fought for basic human right – right to exist.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Vuk Mitevski was born is Skopje, in North Macedonia. He graduated from Bennington College, USA, specializing in sculpture, painting and set design. He lived in USA where he had solo exhibition. His participation at the Biennale of the Young artists from Europe and Mediterranean 2005 was awarded by the Museum of Contemporary Art in Napoli and one of his works is included in their collection. In 2009 he had his solo exhibition at the Macedonian National Gallery, which was marked as one of the best exhibitions in that year and he was picked by Macedonian press as one of the most exciting emerging young visual artists. He directed several short films Alerik (2013), Iyi Ki Dogdun (2013), Slowdancer (2012). Also, he was production designer of movies Beyond the horizon (2019) and How I Killed a Saint (2004), as well as in movies God Exists, Her Name Is Petrunija (2019), When the Day Had No Name (2017), The Women Who Brushed Off Her Tears (2012), I Am from Titov Velesa (2007).
