SYNOPSIS

Twelve-year-old Niki and eleven-year-old Vika are hiding from the terrifying war in a metro station in Kharkiv. Daylight is synonymous with mortal danger, and they, with no chance to escape, live under the constant glow of neon lights.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ivan Ostrochovský was born in 1972 in Žilina, Slovakia. He studied documentary directing and worked as a director and producer in Bratislava. He’s a founder and producer of Punkchart films. After making several short documentaries and series, he directed his first feature-length documentary, Velvet Terrorists, which premiered at the 2014 Berlinale and won several awards (FEDEORA Award at the Karlovy Vary IFF, Tagesspiel Award at Berlinale). His debut fiction feature film, Koza, screened at the Berlinale in 2015, received various awards and was selected as Slovakia’s 2016 Oscar entry. One of his latest films, Služobníci (Servants), was screened at Berlinale 2020.
