SYNOPSIS
The film Stanić, A Century is conceived as a unique encapsulation of the work of one of Montenegro’s greatest painters. It is a journey through his art—rich with fantasy and spirit—guided by Stanić himself. His reflections on daily life, art and kitsch, life in small towns, modernity in painting, and television serve as the narrative thread. Each selected observation from interviews spanning more than half a century is interwoven with documentary material and his paintings, acting both as commentary and artistic transposition, blurring the lines between the real and the imagined.
A special segment features testimonials from Vojo’s friends and admirers. The film includes insights from Đorđe Kadijević, Rade Šerbedžija, Emir Kusturica, Radmila Vojvodić, Duško Vujošević, and Branko Baletić, who share why Stanić’s works resonate with them and hold significant meaning.
